In reply to Kelsey12XP's post on December 19, This may be "Installer" folder issue. This happened to me when upgrading to Windows 8, but having to uninstall a few programs. The Word icon may be missing or corrupt. If the folders are not there, look on your old machine or another with Ms Office and copy the appropriate 0FF1CE folder to your machine's Installer folder. In reply to Adriano San's post on May 7, Any further suggestions? Have you tried repairing Office? Well, I too have a PC with the problem after upgrading to Windows One reason Microsoft Word is not responding is because you have a faulty printer set as the default printer on your computer. Word is tightly integrated with the printers on your system and any issues with your printers can cause Word not to respond.
To fix this, you can update the printer drivers on your machine. Some antivirus programs are known to cause conflicts with various apps. Therefore, we suggest you turn your antivirus program temporarily off and see if that fixes the issue with Word on your system.
Most antivirus software can be turned off by right-clicking on their icons in the system tray and choosing Disable , Turn off protection , or a similar option. You may want to remove your current antivirus program and replace it with another one.
If Word is not responding after an Office or Windows update, you can try uninstalling the update and see if that fixes the problem. Whichever problem you have, the fixes listed below will help solve your issues.
When Grammarly fails to connect to the server, it's a clear sign that it isn't able to make a connection with the internet. Therefore, troubleshoot the internet connection to help the add-in make a stable connection with the server. If you can't open the extension or can't locate it in Microsoft Word, the internet isn't the culprit, and the problem often lies with the word processor or the add-in.
However, it doesn't hurt to restart the router and ensure the internet isn't causing the issue. With Grammarly, you can block certain apps to access Grammarly for grammar checks on confidential documents due to privacy concerns. You'll no longer be able to use the add-in in the application once you've blocked its access to Grammarly.
Thus, it's imperative to make sure Microsoft Word isn't added there. To do this, click on the "show hidden icons" symbol, right-click on the Grammarly icon and go to its Settings.
If it isn't there, the problem lies elsewhere. Your Grammarly account may have been banned if the add-in isn't opening correctly in Microsoft Word. Visit Grammarly's official website and log in to your account to ensure that's not the case. If you can access your account on the website, you can rule this out as the problem.
